WCAX-TV says lawyers for 52-year-old Timothy Dowd of Hinesburg had asked that Dowd be allowed to live at home in Hinesburg under electronic monitoring.
But prosecutors say a judge ruled Tuesday that Dowd will remain in jail without bail.
Authorities say Dowd, who has four prior DUI convictions, was fleeing police when he plowed into another car at a downtown intersection. The Dec. 26 crash killed Kathryn “Kaye” Borneman.
Dowd has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
