Sergio Kindle Arrested for DUI

Sergio Kindle, the Ravens’ rookie linebacker who is on IR with a fractured skull, was arrested for DUI early Sunday morning.

According to police, Kindle was pulled over a little after 4 a.m. when cops saw his car weaving. He was arrested without incident and released on $10,000 bond.

Kindle says he was driving with friends, one of whom had to catch an early flight. He informed the team about the arrest and apologized.

“I just want to apologize to the organization, because I don’t want to bring a negative light to the team,” he said. “It was my mistake. I can’t take it back now. I don’t know what’s going to happen from here.”

Kindle, the Ravens’ second-round pick in 2010, was arrested for DWI in 2007 and in 2009 abandoned the scene of an accident in which he crashed his car into the side of an apartment building.

His NFL career never got started after an accident in July that left Kindle with a fractured skull. Kindle was hospitalized and is still recovering. Despite initial hope that he’d be able to play in 2011, Kindle recently expressed doubt that he’ll be ready in time.
