When the ice cream truck is coming down the block, usually the primal instinct for kids is to run toward the music like moths to a delicious flame.
Ronald Purdy created the opposite effect after he nearly drove his ice cream truck into a child who was probably just trying to get a snow cone.
The Tampa Bay area native was arrested and charged with DUI because he was operating his Sub Zero Ice Cream truck after hitting an adult treat or two, police alleged.
Purdy, 49, was pulled over Monday afternoon after someone called 911 to report his driving. Deputies said Purdy staggered out of the ice cream truck and gave his birthday when he was asked for his address.

The deputies also reported finding two open bottles of whiskey.
A report lists his blood alcohol content at 0.227 percent, nearly three times the legal limit for drivers, even if they are going 2 miles an hour.
