NEW FAIRFIELD — Police charged an 18-year-old New Fairfield man with drunken driving by a person under the age of 21 as the result of an investigation into an accident that occurred in July.
Jacob Kaplan, of Pine Hill Road, was also cited for failure to drive to the right as a result of the accident, which occurred on Shortwoods Road on July 27.
The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured, but Kaplan’s car caught fire and was a total loss, state police said.
