Fewer DUI's in the New Year

For those who partied hard to ring in the New Year, they made sure to leave the party with a designated driver.

There were no DUI arrests in Rockford for the New Year.

More than 40 people took advantage of the free-rides home program but that was less than half compared to last year.

Police say it was a quiet night, and credited that to beefed up police presence in the streets.

Though there were no DUI’s in Rockford. In Winnebago County there were 14 arrests total.
