Los Angeles – A suspected drunken driver in a Ford Explorer crashed the sport utility vehicle into a sober-living house in South Los Angeles early today.
The driver and a passenger were temporarily trapped in the wreckage at 8005 S. Figueroa St. after the roughly 12:55 a.m. accident, according to police and firefighters.
The two people rescued from the sport utility vehicle and four people inside the building were taken to hospitals, a fire department spokesman said.
The driver was expected to be booked on suspicion of drunken driving, Los Angeles police Lt. Peter Casey said.
A fire spokesman said four patients were taken to hospitals in serious condition, and two other people had lesser injuries.
