Man charged with DUI at scene of E. Knoxville church fire

KNOXVILLE — No injuries were reported in the massive fire that destroyed the sanctuary of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Monday night, although the one arrest was made at the scene.

An unidentified person was arrested for DUI after attempting to drive through a barricade authorities had established to shut down the 1800 block of Dandridge Avenue, according to Knoxville Fire Department Capt. D.J. Corcoran. The church is located at 1807 Dandridge.
